The Fire Safety Bill passed the HOUSE by a 114 to 19 vote.  A number of 
legislators are to be commended for their impassioned support.

A number of uniformed firefighters from volunteer and career departments 
were in attendance and mentioned by Representative Mary Murphy in her 
support of the bill.

The SENATE Tax Committee passed the Senate version, but referred it to 
Ways and Means so we will now concentrate on moving the Senate bill 
through that committee and on to the Senate floor.

I urge firefighters to continue to let their legislators know of their 
support.  Now we can express thanks to the representatives and continue 
to impress on our senators the importance of this legislation.
