The Minnesota Fire Service Foundation, incorporated in 1985, is administered by a board of nine people. One of the purposes of this Foundation is to raise funds from donations, the sales of miniature memorial statues and memorial coin sets and administer these funds for educational purposes. Any year in which the fund balance of the Minnesota Fire Service Foundation exceeds $3,000.00, a minimum of two scholarships of $1000.00 each shall be awarded for college or post secondary education. One scholarship shall be awarded to a child of a deceased firefighter and a minimum of one to a child of an active or retired firefighter. The Foundation may at its discretion award additional scholarships if the financial condition of the Foundation can support the awards. Two additional alternates will be drawn in case scholarships are not accepted by any of the original recipients. |
